I awoke this morning to the pleasant aroma of baking biscuits. And while I was eating and contemplating the overcast skies Sean Tice recommended that I listen to this song.
St. Vincent (Annie Clark) used to be in The Polyphonic Spree, of which I was unaware.
Thanks, Nancy Weiner.
Letterman’s music team keeps their fingers firmly on the pulse.
In other news, I am too lazy to write about the beautiful-beach-and-sophisticated-bar-day yesterday. So here is a brief synopsis:

I’ve returned to America and so has PeterB.
Yesterday we spent the afternoon listening to music at The Yard in Gowanus with friends from near and afar. Brooklyn Sunday sunshine interfacing.
But and so first class back at the GPIA today.
Manikarnika
is one of the burning ghats along the Ganges at Varanasi. We watched and inhaled corpses burn on pyres and almost got trampled on the stairs when the buffalo came.
Other non-picayune events include fighting kites from the roof, standing in a open doorway on the train, smiling, drinking street chai, maximizing usage of the word crepuscular, feasting on less than 400 rupees, laughing, feeling the rains sweep in, throwing up, yelling, sitting three to a bench, staying up late, waking up early, and pushing that limit.
Three in India.
Our alcoholic auto-rickshaw driving pair shuttled us safely back to the lovely Shanti Lodge in Agra after a long day of sightseeing (Taj Mahal, baby Taj, Agra Fort) and carpet shopping.

Whitney and PeterB are here in Hong Kong.
Accordingly, we have been enjoying a few of the spectral delights offered in this SAR. In no particular order:
1) Slurped turtle shell gelatin and honey (sans Fisher).
2) Went to W Hotel Hong Kong for wine Wednesdays.
3) Ate roast duck, ribs, sauteed bamboo, and various dim sum at a Ye Shanghai. Yum cha.
4) Tried to sneak into The Key Club. Failed.
5) Walked around outside during the tropical storm.
6) Listened to jazz, sat uncomfortably close to one another, and made a to do list.
7) Talked about investment opportunities while sipping Coors Light and Manhattans in the lobby of The Peninsula.
8) Danced in celebration.
9) Took a few photos, left a few footprints.
Picnic on Victoria Peak tomorrow with Maxine. High Vs all around.
Speech!
Considering myself gastronomical, here is a description of the food, as opposed to the hilarious events, at my farewell lunch with The Climate Group.
First course was jellyfish, jellied pork cubes, and pork satay.
Next came the garlic and broccoli fish, fried prawns with salted egg yolk, and Peking duck.
Steamed pork dumplings and a bamboo and small bok choy fish soup with papaya. Then seafood fried rice.
We finished with red bean puff pastries, flower petal gelatin, and hot coconut milk with fish belly.
All washed down, of course, with jasmine tea.
